1964 Seiko World Time Olympic Edition -Automatic Wristwatch
Condition - Used
This watch has been stripped , cleaned and lubricated and is running very well, cosmetic condition is as to be expected of a watch at this age with only one minor fault listed below.
*Fault:
It has been impossible to locate a new spring as originally fitted in the setting mechanism, which has been replaced by a non-original item. This causes the date setting position to occasionally stick. The solution is simply to push the crown back in, adjust the time a little, then return it to the date setting position. It may sometimes be necessary to do this a couple of times before the date setting operates freely. Once set there is no effect on the operation on the usability of the watch.
Note:
None of the automatic Seiko's of this era can be manually wound. All rely on being worn (or placed on an auto winder) to tension the main spring.
For cosmetic condition, which I would describe overall as excellent, please examine the photos.
The Olympic torch logo etc which is inscribed on the back of the watch can be seen by eye but is almost impossible to reproduce in a photo due to the fact that it was extremely shallow and has worn away with use.
